First publicity shot, Autumn '79. Back when a cigarette could be enjoyed in an indoor setting.

Goaldiggers charity football match Autumn '79, Wembley Arena.
This was the first public appearance I ever made with the band. We were recording Conquest at the time. But we took a Sunday off to play in this 5-a-side tournament. Each team was allowed one professional player. We had ex-QPR player Stan Bowles. Another team had George Best playing for them. We played against a team that included Bobby Charlton. Having spent weeks in the studio, we weren't exactly match fit. After about 2 minutes of the first game I was already struggling. I was only 22 - bent over double with cramp. Charlton comes running past me like a two year-old and tosses me an aside, "it's hard isn't it lad". To this day I wish I'd had the breath to answer him.

Promo shot for last British tour. Late '80. Somewhere in Camden. I'm wearing a tramp's scarf and Trevor looks like he doesn't know whether he's a mod or a rocker.

Another one from the same promo session around Camden Lock. It was bloody freezing. The cigarette's only there to keep me warm.
